The Unmaking is about the work behind the work - a long-form podcast exploring the transformations necessary in creative practice.

It pays attention to moments that rarely appear in case studies, portfolios, or biographies: the moments when we have to let go of what used to work, and deal with what follows.

Where others focus on polished arcs or finished outcomes, The Unmaking stays with what's not yet "done" - the false starts, pivots, doubts, and personal reckonings that reshape a life’s direction, and the times between realising something must change, and knowing what comes next.

Made from Wānaka, Aotearoa New Zealand, and shaped by this place, its scale and pace, and the kind of thinking that only such space allows, The Unmaking is for anyone who understands that creative practice runs deeper than any portfolio can show, and that the most important work sometimes happens in the gaps.

It's not about success.

It's about those of us who build, break, rebuild, and begin again.

It's about the necessary, unfinished work of becoming.
